Nawabganj Thana was a police station in Maldah district of Pakistan Indian subcontinent, rich in mangoes, copper and silk. Historically, there was a post of Munsef Court in Nawabganj Police Station under Maldah District Judge Kot. A review of the old records shows that in 1922 Ramesh Chandra Bagchi, a famous lawyer and Congress leader of the area, was the president of this lawyers' association. After the partition of the country, Nawabganj Thana was included in Rajshahi District and converted into a subdivision; Either a full court of munsef. After that a lot of water rolled down Mahananda's body. Born in Tungi Para of Gopalganj, Bangladesh got its independence by the hands of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation.
Later, Nawabganj Sub-Division was promoted to District. The name of the district was changed to Chapainawabganj instead of Nawabganj. In Chapainawabganj in 1984, a full-fledged district judge court was established where the position of the first district judge was decorated by the learned district and session judge Mr. A. S. M. Hedayet Hossain. Whose worthy successor is the current District and Sessions Judge Mr. Moha Adeeb Ali.
A separate Chief Judicial Magistrate Court was established after the separation of the Judiciary in 2007. Its first learned Chief Judicial Magistrate was Mr. Vasudev Roy. At present, the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate Mr. Kumar Shipan Modak is carrying that important responsibility.
